"Taxing Matters. A Review of Estate Planning Matters and How the SECURE ACT May Impact Your Retirement and Estate Plan”.
Speaker: Tamara Telesko, Director of Wealth Planning Strategies, expert on legal and tax issues.
The talk will cover two main topics: the SECURE Act and Estate Planning. For the SECURE Act, the focus will be on the changes to the minimum distribution rules, changes to restrictions on contributing to individual retirement accounts and changes in how non-spouse beneficiaries inherit retirement accounts. For Estate Planning, the focus will be on how property passes to beneficiaries, various estate documents, estate and gift tax rates, state estate tax and/or inheritance taxes and disclaimer planning.
Tuesday Talks are scheduled on the Morningside campus on alternate Tuesdays during the academic year. EPIC members, faculty, and invited guests speak on topics that range across the academic spectrum and also address issues of particular importance to the retired academic community. Lunch will be served. Guests are welcome.
