Live Musical Performance: Magdalena A. Stern Baczewska, Director, Music Performance Program and Lecturer in Music, Faculty of Arts and Sciences

This event featured piano music by composers of African heritage. Baczewska performed evocative character pieces of well-known works, as well as those that too long were in the shadow. Each performance was preceded by an introduction on the history of the piece in the context of the composer's life, and the compositional techniques employed, all illustrated live from the piano.
