The Case of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Personnel

The year 2020 was a catalyst for organizations. How did the killing of George Floyd on May 25^th, 2020 changed the nature of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) expertise in the American workplace? In this study, Portocarrero examines how this event altered the nature of DEI expertise within an organization, Redwood University (pseudonym), one of the University of California campuses. She showed how the everyday lives of DEI personnel is being redefined, advancing our understanding of race, expertise, and organizations.
