EPIC Conversation with Dr. Linda Lewis & Welcome Luncheon
Join us for an EPIC Conversation with Dr. Linda D. Lewis, Clinical Professor Emerita of Neurology and Special Lecturer in the Department of Neurology at Columbia University. Dr. Lewis will reflect on her distinguished career in medicine, education, and leadership at Columbia and beyond.
Dr. Lewis served as Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs at Columbia’s Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and was a guiding presence at the White Coat Ceremony for 12 years, where she introduced speakers and led the oath recitation. A respected mentor and educator, she also served on the Board of Trustees of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation, promoting humanism in medicine.
Dr. Lewis earned her medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine and trained at several leading institutions, including the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Case Western Reserve Medical Center, St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center, and Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where she later completed a fellowship.
Dr. Lewis will be in conversation with Dr. Ronald E. Drusin, the Rolf H. Scholdager Professor Emeritus of Medicine and Special Lecturer in the Department of Medicine at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons (VP&S). He served as Vice Dean for Education at VP&S until his retirement in 2019 and played a key role in curricular reform and innovation for over three decades. A Columbia-trained cardiologist, Dr. Drusin was the founding medical director of Columbia’s Heart Transplant Program and chaired the VP&S Curriculum Committee for more than 30 years.
