Preserving Academic Freedom at Columbia

Professor Eli Noam will report on the newly founded Columbia Academic Freedom Council (CAFC), which he co-chairs. As a faculty and researcher-based organization, CAFC aims to foster civil and diverse discourse on campus while safeguarding academic freedom in a neutral manner. With around 80 faculty members so far, CAFC addresses the importance of open inquiry, intellectual diversity, and civil discourse. An article from the Columbia Spectator is attached. Join us to explore how faculty retirees can contribute to fundamental campus issues and uphold the values essential for academic advance.
